Antique-Style Chinese Teapots & Tea Ware

仿古 means a new piece made faithfully to an old shape: the Ming globular pot, the Qing melon-ribbed body, period brushwork and period proportions. These are sold as reproductions and labelled as such, never as antiques. You get the shape and the brushwork of the original, at a price that lets you actually pour tea from it.

Not made yet. Antique-style reproductions are not in production yet. The current gaiwan and cups are contemporary reactive glazes, and the antique shapes follow once the blue-and-white work is running. See what is in stock.

We do not sell antiques, and we do not distress new work

No artificial crazing, no stained foot rings, no invented kiln marks, no "attributed to". A reproduction dressed up to pass is a forgery whatever the seller intended. Ours look like what they are: new porcelain in an old shape.

If you want a genuine antique

Go to an auction house, ask for a condition report and provenance, and expect to pay for both. If what you want is the shape and the brushwork in something you can use every day, that is this.
